Left Parties Demands Proper Registration, Food, Medical Facilities and Necessary Aid for Rohingya Refugees in a Press Conference

Left Parties of Bangladesh has demanded proper registration, food, medical facilities and necessary Aid for Rohingya refugees in a press conference. The press conference was arranged by CPB-BSD and Democratic Left Alliance. Leaders of these organizations demanded safe shelter for Rohingya refugees, keeping proper documents of their name and address, ensure food, medical treatment and other necessary facilities, increase international pressure on Myanmar to stop mass killing and destruction, increase diplomatic initiative to compel Myanmar to take back Rohingya people recognizing them as its citizens and to ensure their safety, increase involvement of UN, materialize the recommendations of Cofi Anan’s Commission, strengthen diplomatic activities in getting co-operation form India, China and other countries, place complaints to ICC against Myanmar Govt. and its Army for crime against humanity such as mass killing and destructions by Myanmar govt and its army, protect sovereignty of Bangladesh, increase surveillance in protecting the land and water resources, take immediate steps to prevent Rohingya people from spreading throughout the country and dismantle all steps of evil forces who are trying to destabilize this region by using this situation. The leaders also said “If we fail to solve the crisis from ethnic perspective various communal and evil forces of home and abroad will take advantages from the situation. These evil communal forces have already started their provocations which may result in dangerous consequences. In fact, the aim of these people and mass killers of Myanmar is the same. They are never friends of Rohingya people rather they play roles in eliminating Rahigna community. 14 september, After visiting refugees and refugee camps in Ukhia & Teknaf, the leaders of these parties arranged the conference in the capital at Mukti Bhaban, Purana Paltan to inform their findings and demands to the nation. Secretary of CPB Comrade Ruhin Hossain Prince read out the written speech. Acting Secretary General of Revolutionary Workers Party Comrade Arbar khan delivered the inaugural speech. Central leader of BSD (Marxist) Comrade Shuvrangsu Chakraborty, Chief Coordinator of Gonashanghati Andolon Jonayed Saki, Jahidul Hoque Milu of BSD, Abdus Satter of United Communist League answered questions from the journalists. General Secretary of CPB central committee Comrade Shal Alam, central leader of BSD Bazlur Rashind Firoz, Mosharefa Mishu of Revolutionary Democratic Party, Hamidul Hoque of Socialist Movement of Bangladesh, Laxmi Chakrabati and Kafi Ratan of CPB Rajekjjaman Ratan of BSD were also present there. The leaders said “We saw thousands of helpless Rohingya beside road while visiting Teknaf on 11 September at 11 am. There were fear and panic on their faces. The sight was same unto Ukhia. We saw refugees coming by crossing the Naaf river. We saw 437 of Hindu families who were also staying in the camp. We saw NID cards of Myanmar among many refugees.” They also said, “We saw pathetic situation of the newly included refugees. Rain water was washing there dwelling places, toilets. Many were looking forward to getting relief. When asked, the refugees said they had not yet heard of registering names. None of them could specifically tell about Govt. help.” The leaders also request the people of the country to build national unity and to behave responsibly in this crisis situation of the Rohingya people.
