The Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) strongly condemned US intervention in Venezuela. The Party organized a protest rally on 3 February, 2019 in front of the national press club, Dhaka. CPB President Mujahidul Islam Selim presided the rally and said that colonial era is over, people will not allow re-colonization. Peace-loving people of the world including Latin American people are strongly committed to resist neo-colonialism imposed by US imperialism. He said, for many years US imperialism is conspiring to install a puppet regime in Venezuela. Leftists of Venezuela resisted that conspiracy through a popular mass uprising. Again the same evil force is operating subversive activities and conspiracy to overthrow legally elected Maduro govt. of Venezuela. This aggressive act of imperialism has now reached in a serious level. Addressing the rally CPB General Secretary Md. Shah Alam said, US imperialism has become ever desperate to plunder the Venezuelan oil and that is why they are committing this illegal acts. He said, anti-imperialist struggle of Venezuela and anti-imperialist struggle of Bangladesh are very much interconnected. US imperialism nakedly opposed our Liberation war of 1971and similarly it again opposes the just struggle of Venezuelan people. The protest meeting was also addressed by Member of the Central Committee and Head of the International Department Hasan Tarique Chowdhury, Member of Central Committee and Dhaka Committee General Secretary Dr. Sajedul Haque Rubel, General Secretary of CPB Narayanganj Distirct Shibnath Charavarty, former student leader Lucky Akhter and it was conducted by Member of the Central Committee and International department Md. Kibria. Leaders of CPB said in the meeting that by recognizing unelected Juan Guaido as Venezuelan President the US and its allies have accelerated the crisis into a peak level. It is a naked interference into the internal affairs of Venezuela and serious violation of diplomatic courtesy by US imperialism. By doing this illegal act the Trump administration has deepen the crisis and instability in Venezuela. CPB leaders express their solidarity to legally elected Maduro government and called upon the Bangladesh govt. to condemn US interference in Venezuela. A protest rally was marched through main streets of the capital after the meeting.
