President of the Communist Party of Bangladesh (CPB) Mujahidul Islam Selim and General Secretary Md. Shah Alam in a statement to the press today strongly condemns the post-election violence all across the state of Tripura, India.
In this statement CPB leaders said, people of Bangladesh, left- progressive forces and communists of Bangladesh are aggrieved and concerned due to the barbarity unleashed in the state of Tripura which border is very much adjacent to Bangladesh. Cruel demolition of statue of great leader of the 20th century Vladimir Ilich Lenin using bulldozer by saffron terrorists has reminded us the scene of demolition of the statue of Gautam Buddha in Afghanistan by Talibans. On behalf of Communists of Bangladesh, we condemn and protest against this fascist atrocity.
CPB leaders in this statement also said, news media has already published that during post-election violence BJP, RSS and other saffron terrorists unleashed unprecedented attack and arson targeting offices of CPI(M), CPI, other left parties and mass organizations and their cadres. These saffron terrorists carried out extensive attack on common people of Tripura who voted for Left front.
We, firmly acknowledge from CPB that during the liberation war of Bangladesh in 1971 people of Bangladesh fled Pakistani occupying army and then people of Tripura provided shelter for people of Bangladesh who were in number double of the population of Tripura. We, Communists of Bangladesh stand by people of Tripura who are now victim of fascist attack committed by BJP, RSS and other terrorists.
